For travelers who wish to immerse themselves in the most breathtaking alpine scenery in Colorado but who have limited time at their disposal, this tour may be the perfect prescription. The first leg of your trip traverses portions of the Front, Mosquito and Sawatch Ranges. Pikes Peak, Mt. Elbert (the highest peak in Colorado), and the Collegiate Peaks are visible en route to the resort community of Aspen, gateway to the Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness. As you stand on the shores of Maroon Lake and gaze upon the towering Maroon Bells, it will quickly become evident why this vista is, arguably, THE iconic image for all of Colorado. Reluctantly leaving this majestic setting, you will push southward via Montrose and Ridgway to the Sneffels Range, which serves as a superb introduction to the awe-inspiring San Juan Mountains.

One of the great mountain ranges in all of America, the soaring San Juans are high, wild and rugged. Your tour of this spectacular area will be highlighted by a circuit of the 236-mile long San Juan Skyway, a ride on the historic Durango & Silverton Narrow-Gauge Railroad, and more extensive forays into the jaw-dropping Sneffels Range via backroads emanating from the Dallas Divide area. After returning to Colorado Springs, your host city, a brief trip will be made to the Garden of the Gods if time permits.
